More about Sarah

Sarah's childhood holidays were spent here in North Norfolk giving her a great affection for the area, though she grew up in London where she started drawing elegant Victorian houses for their owners, to earn money as a teenager. Sarah then went on to study at Chelsea School of Art and then took a degree in illustration at Brighton University.

She returned to London with a distinctive portfolio and was soon receiving commissions from many of the leading homes, beauty, finance and architectural magazines. She then attracted the attention of top design and advertising groups and was able to work for prestigious international clients, taking her around the world.

There is a permanent installation of Sarah's reportage illustrations on the platforms of Shadwell Station on the London Overground line, depicting the diverse features of the area from Hawksmoor Churches and Tall Ships to market stalls and pubs.

Another thriving area of her work is in children's books. She has written and illustrated her own stories, 'Waggle' and 'Jack's New Boat' with Walker Books in London and brought to life the stories of several American authors for Random House in New York. She is currently working with Walker Books on the successful series of Pop-Up Three Dimensional City Skyline books. So far she has depicted London, New York, Washington, Paris and Berlin in this charming format. The Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Louvre in Paris have also commissioned their own versions.

Sarah gives talks at schools and libraries and has signings of her books at children's bookshops.
