About Alice Thomson

Cambridge based Alice Thomson's work was mostly inspired by this beautiful city for many years, however frequent trips to North Norfolk made her fall totally in love with the coastline here, especially around the seaside town of Cromer.

With a degree in Illustration from Harrow Art College, Alice carries a sketchbook with her at all times and her work has a spontaneous 'reportage' feel to it with free lines and expressive colour.

She creates a combination of collage, ink, crayons, printing and paints, also sticks and pencils to add layers of interest to her compositions until she feels they are complete. She aims to reach the essence of a place. Alice also loves to create still life paintings, often featuring her beloved Cornishware pottery.

Alice's work has been on show at The Gallery Norfolk since 2020 and she has become a firm favourite with the customers. In 2023 Alice was featured in Sky Art's Landscape Artist of the Year.
